Something of a dreamer at school Quentin's (Prefers to use his second name "Edward" or his initials QED) parents decided to send him to Sandhurst to try
and instill some sense of discipline - the StarFleet Academy Annex there being built on the site of the Ancient Royal Military College destroyed in
WWIII. A Tutor there discovered Edward's interest in the sciences, and his knack for inventing and "bodging" together odd pieces of machinery out of scrap.
It was on his recommendation that QED pursued his Starfleet Career, eventually graduating 7th in his class in Sciences.
During his time on DS4 he developed a bit of a reputation as an eccentric. An allergy to Retinax leads him to wear Reading glasses, and having suffered
Rigillian 'Flu whilst on the Agamenon means he feels the cold badly, and has taken to wearing a rather battered Cardigan with pockets in it - usually
stuffed with written notes, pens and other assorted bits and pieces. It's not that he distrusts computers it's more why bother putting it in the
computer when you can just jot it down on paper?
He did not have a happy time during the Dominion war, he is not by nature a warrior, and the vast destruction saddened him immensely, However his
performance throughout the war was exemplary if not outstanding.
Manner
Appears distant, if friendly. A team player, but quite happy to potter about by himself on projects for long periods. Maintains the appearance of being a
befuddled academic, to avoid getting too close to anyone.
Appearance
6ft 1" Sandy coloured hair, Blue eyes. No distinguishing features.
Hobbies
Holo programming, 1920's-30's Jazz music (can play the piano although he keeps this quiet).
Also to the irritation off Engineers he serves with, he often collects odd and sometimes broken pieces of Technology which he works on in his spare
time, often scrounging parts from Engineering.
Awards
DWM
Service Citation for Original Thinking
Demerits
Repremand for destruction of property on DS4 when trying to reactivate what turned out to be an Alien equivilent to an Industrial Plasma Torch.
